It's TOO cold.

It's too dang cold! I am freezing as I am typing this because our computer is downstairs in the almost finished basement. It just too freaking cold to be in Alabama. This is the South, where birds should come to hibernate. Anyways, here is my little man celebratin the 8 degree weather.

I love Bodie in this cowboy outfit. He has stolen my heart completely!

Pictures from Darby's Christmas dance program

My little girl is growing up way too fast.

I was so proud of how well Darby did at the parent-watch night in December. We signed her up for dance back in August just hoping she would enjoy interacting with other children her age and to get her used to some sort of structured environment and she LOVES it! She asks me everyday "go to dance today Mommy?" "We gonna see Aunt Kim at dance?" (She calls Mrs. Kim "Aunt Kim" because my sister is Kim also!) She sings her dance songs in front of the mirror, and is still singing "Santa Claus is coming to Town." I can't wait to see her in her dance costume for recital.

My 11th Anniversary

Well I should have posted this yesterday, but didn't get a chance. January 11th will always be a day that stands out in my life. This year I am going to see it in a more thankful way, though. It has been 11 years since I was diagnosed with Type 1 insulin dependent diabetes on January 11, 1998. That time in my life was such a gloomy period because most people think their life is ending when they get news like that. I remember being in the ICU for a week and no one ever walked through my cube with positive news. You can't do this, you can't do that....

But now, 11 years later, I am healthy, happily married, have one beautiful little girl, a handsome little boy, a supportive family, wonderful friends, an enegertic dog, and anything a girl could ask for, and for my old friend Kellie Vance I even got to eat my own wedding cake! Only those who were close to me in high school will remember and understand the wedding cake comment.

Thank you Lord for all that you have blessed me with in my life and the 11 wonderful years I have enjoyed since my diagnosis and the many more ahead.

Thanks to everyone for all the love and support that you have shown me. My goal for 2009 is to create a walking team and participate in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation walk in November to help raise money for a cure for children and others who have Type 1 insulin dependent diabetes.

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone is having a great 2009! We are doing well, all getting over a cold/the crud, but we are making it. Bodie turned 5 months old on New Year's Day, he is growing so fast I just want to freeze him. I saw a little baby boy at work today and it made me want to just hold my man so tight. He is the sweetest little chunky red head you will ever meet. Darby is growing too fast also, she just turned 2 1/2 on Wednesday Jan 7th. My, my where does time go. Poor Matt is freezing his butt off and drowning out in the rain every night at the RR, I feel so sorry for him. I wish everyone a wonderful year!
