Darby's 1st Dance Recital

Today was Darby's first dance recital and she did great! We are so proud of her. She wore her "itchy" costume without any complaints, danced on the BIG stage at the BJCC Concert Hall without one tear, and had a blast. Her class had the cutest 19 kids I ever seen. They did a ballet number to the song "Me and My Teddy Bear," and tap routine to "Boogie Woogie Piggy." Matt and I were floored at how well she did. She's only 2 years old and one of the youngest in her class but it didn't stop our little ham. I hope she enjoys dancing as much as I did growing up. I have lots more photos to post, so keep watching!!!!

So much is going on in our world right now. Darb's is sick...sinus infection that's making her cough up stuff like an old person. She's also been running a fever, max of 103.1! How's that for sick! Bodie is crawling and sitting up. Crawling....everywhere, we can't keep up with him! He's into the dog bowls in a second if you're not watching. My job has been extra busy and stressful, but maybe things are looking up (it's job security for one of us right now). Matt, however is not looking good at the railroad. I am ready for the economy to turn around and pick up. Matt is going to be laid off this weekend when his vacation is over. Vacation...he only took a vacation b/c if he didn't then we wouldn't have gotten a pay check for the past couple of weeks, so at least he got his full 2 weeks paid vacation to make one last decent paycheck. We cancelled our planned vacation for September, a week at the beach just the 4 of us. I don't know what we are going to do. I am going to trust in the Lord b/c he knows more than us and has a bigger plan. We have sold one of our vehicles to help lighten the load for a while. I am just trying to be as positive as I can in a world of negatives.

Congratulations Kimberly!!! UAB May 9, 2009 Graduation

My little sister graduated from UAB last Saturday and I am so proud of her. She received her Bachelor's in Health Sciences. She did her internship with AOC (Alabama Organ Center) getting to go on organ harvests and retrievals during her last semester. She's hoping that they might give her a full time position. Needless to say, we are all so very proud of her and everything she's accomplished. GO BLAZERS!!!! Hope you have a blast in the Dominican!

Playing outside

Uh Oh, where's the bodies?

Just some pictures of everyone having a good time outside one afternoon last week. Austin and Darby were being traced with sidewalk chalk. Bodie chillin' in the wagon trying to drink Aunt B's koolaid, and Tripp teetering around walking like his was tipsy! He's so cute trying to walk.

He's finally sitting up!

"What's that you said?"

Bodie trying to get somewhere. He's almost got it down!
The cutest butt ever.

Bodie is now 9 months old and decided he'd go ahead and start sitting up, no rush or anything. He made a complete fool out of me and Matt at his check up. We had checked almost everything as a no for meeting his milestones, so I said "should I be worried yet? I'm not really worried b/c to me he just doesn't seem to be interested yet." Come on, the boy would fall over sideways and laugh the entire way down while we just wonder why he won't sit up and play. A complete mess!!!!! At his 9 month check up he weighed 22# and 3oz, 28 1/2 inches long, with a big head that was in the 90% for his age. His Grammy has nicknamed him "The Rock" and it fits him. "Good bye baby tub, I'm a BIG boy now!!!"

Darby's BIG girl bed!

Recently Darby got her first BIG girl bed!!!! She loved it and was so excited to have a cute Paris themed comforter (thanks to my friend Megan Bo!) with "towers" and "modacycles" on it. The bed is an antique wrought iron bed that I found in the Trussville Antique Mall for $50.00. I painted it pink, for now, to match her new bedding. She is loving having her own "big bed like mommy's."

Edited pic's

I have been playing with an online photo editing website that I really like. I actually introduced my friend Mandy to it, but she has reintroduced myself back to it. It has so many capabilities and is a lot of fun to work with. Here are some of my works! By the way I need to catch everyone up to date, so much has happened lately. Easter, Bodie turned 9 months, Bodie is now sitting on his own (finally!!!), etc... You know how it is with kids, who has time for anything!
