Day 9...someone you love!

I love so many! My heart, soul, and everything belong to these two!

My goal today was to shoot a picture of Matt with the kids but his work schedule did not allow that to happen. I love my family more than anything in this world. I have truly been blessed!

I've been playing around with some editing tricks on these last few photos...just trying to better myself! Tomorrow is day 10, take a picture of a childhood memory...stay tuned for that!

The kids pumpkins

The kids had to have these little pumpkin kits from Target the other day. Yoda for Darby and Buzz for Bodie. I picked up some small pumpkins tonight while grocery shopping so we could get a head start on our pumpkin decorating!!!!
Darby making her Yoda pumpkin.
Bodie putting together Buzz.
Aren't they so cute!
The best kind of carving you can do! Stick some arms & legs in the pumpkin! I love that there was nothing for me to clean up.

Fall is in the air & house...

So we moved in March of this year to the house we had been eyeing for years. We tried to sell our house about 4 years ago and had put a contract on it but we were beat out (pouting...). But here we are 4 1/2 years later and our dream came true. We've been here 6 months and are enjoying it so much. This is the first picture I've taken of the outside. I can't wait to decorate for Christmas this year!!!!! Darby and I have only stuck a couple pumpkin and owl Halloween signs in the yard, more to come. It's still a little hot for pumpkins on the porch here in Alabama!

The fireplace.

Mmmmmmm...taste like a Payday!
A pinterest project on display! I love their feet prints turned into ghosts! The pumpkin was also my mom's.
Darby being silly and using some of the decor as accessories! This was my mom's and I always loved it as a child...so yes it comes out each year!
I hung my pumpkin paper lantern from the light fixture...I figured 'why not?'...my kids love it!
So I haven't found a table that I like to use in the hall, therefore my Halloween display is on the dining room table just to left left of the foyer.

Trip to Daphne!!!!

The Gulf Shores sunset just before dinner.

We took a weekend trip to Daphne, AL this weekend to visit some friends (Scotty and Megan Boshell) who have moved there in the past year. Took us a while to both have time off to make the road trip, but we had a blast! The kids had so much fun playing, the guys hung out, Megan and I did some home interiors shopping, and we had a fun night at the beach for dinner. I can't wait to go back. I got some great home decor for the new house and have decided to take a note from my friend Megan and post some pictures. Maybe since I'm off this week to spend some much needed time with my family and hubby, I can catch this blog up-to-date. Here's a start!

Darby and Bodie's Circus Birthday Party 7.24.2010

We had a wonderful birthday party for the kids this year. Since their birthdays are only 3 weeks apart I had a combined party for them. I went completely overboard...I started planning this one back in March. It was a full out carnival/circus themed party. We had balloons, a balloon artist, duck pond, bucket toss, ring toss, tractor ride, jumper, face painting, blow-up animal petting zoo, photo booth and lots of food and prizes. Even though it was 100 degrees, everyone had a blast. I have about 300+ pic's to go through but I posted some of the main ones! Will upload more later!
My sweet little birthday boy! I can't believe he is 2-years-old already.
My birthday girl with her birthday cake balloon hat....yes, I hired a balloon artist!
The cake table complete with snowcone cupcakes, popcorn cupcakes, and the cake, covered with an adorable circus tent that I got from Oriental Trading!
Darby & Bodie in their birthday outfits made by Lisa Myers (Sew Sweet Children's Boutique)
Lollipop cookies.
Cotton Candy favors for everyone with the cute "Thank You" labels that I made.

Darby's first day of Preschool K3

My sleepy head not quite ready to wake up and start getting ready for school. We are NOT morning people in our house!
Isnt' she cute in her outfit, backpack, and lunch box!
All ready to go to school!
Darby and her teacher.
Today was Darby's first day of Preschool! The day was AWESOME!!! I got to be off with her all day and Matt was home. She got up early, got dressed (she picked out her own outfit and it included a hairbow, girly outfit with cute sandals!), ate breakfast and off we were. SHe went in with NO tears and was smiling when I picked her up. She had 3 worksheets in her folder that were adorable with a certificate saying that she had a "Great first day!" I am so proud of her, but I am so sad that she is growing up so fast.

OMG!!! Lots of catching up to do! Here goes!

Darby turned 3 years old on July 7th! Happy Birthday to my little girl. Wow, how time flies. It's bittersweet watching your angels grow up so fast. I told her that she could have whatever kind of party she wanted to have since it was only for family and a few friends....Spongebob it is!

Darby's 1st Dance Recital

Today was Darby's first dance recital and she did great! We are so proud of her. She wore her "itchy" costume without any complaints, danced on the BIG stage at the BJCC Concert Hall without one tear, and had a blast. Her class had the cutest 19 kids I ever seen. They did a ballet number to the song "Me and My Teddy Bear," and tap routine to "Boogie Woogie Piggy." Matt and I were floored at how well she did. She's only 2 years old and one of the youngest in her class but it didn't stop our little ham. I hope she enjoys dancing as much as I did growing up. I have lots more photos to post, so keep watching!!!!
