Dance Pictures

Well today we had our 1st ever dance pictures!
Another adventure to check off our list of things to do!!!!

She hated her costume, who could ever imagine she would hate sequins and panty hose...? She wouldn't smile for the camera and just kept making these funny faces. Wouldn't leave on her little white gloves. Said her tap shoes hurt her feet. We had to put on makeup and try to tame her wild curly hair... then change into our ballet costume and do the whole thing over again. Can you believe in this process I didn't get one picture. We were too busy trying to get her to smile for the pictures to purchase and put in the program book that I forgot to get my camera out. I don't have one picture myself of her in her costumes. It was fun and we did end up getting some cute pictures. I can't wait to get them back. I can't believe that my little girl is dancing already. She makes the second generation of Dale Serrano dancers for my family including my self and sister, Kimberly.

Recital should be interesting trying to manage the costume and its accessories while at the same time trying to get her to go out on that HUGE stage at the BJCC Concert Hall and dance at the same time.

I can't wait to see the outcome of this adventure the we embarked on back in August. It will be exciting and hope she does it. And no matter what happens, she will always be my ballerina. Boy briefs and all! I am so proud of how well she has actually performed in her classes. She hasn't shed one tear and comes out singing and dancing and smiling each week that we go to Mrs. Kim's("Aunt" Kim to Darby because that's what she calls my sister) dance class. May 30th will be here before I know it and I will be sitting in the audience teary eyed.

Bodie's 6 month photo shoot!

I am late posting these pictures, but better late than never! We had these pictures made for Bodie's 6 month celebration. Talk about a bad day, picture days always turn bad for some reason...after you have worked so hard to make it all perfect. I guess that's just part of motherhood. We went to Portrait Innovations to have some quick pic's made of the family without spending a fortune, but they were so over booked it was ridiculous. I don't know if I'll ever use them again. So here we are all 4 of us dressed and ready with no one to take our picture standing on the sidewalk at Patton Creek. So I called JCPenney at the Galleria and they said "no" because they were waiting on their last customer. I hung up the phone upset, with 2 hungry babies. Then, I had a superwoman moment and decided to call JCP's back. My statement this time to them when they answered the phone was something like this..."we are dressed and ready to go all 4 of us, we are only across the street and will be there in 5 min can you please just take our picture?" It was a miracle, it worked! Here are some of the pic's I got of the kids, b/c the family pic's were too bad to even buy! Maybe next time!! haha.

I know that I am biased b/c there mine, but darn it they are so cute and cuddly!

Wow, what a week! No Spring Break at the Reid Residence.

After a long, busy, exhausting week there's nothing better that coming home to these 2 adorable little angels. They make every moment worth while. It has definitely NOT been any thing close to Spring Break for us. We have worked all week, and I mean worked. Everyone at my work has been either off for sick leave, vacation, or other things so the few of us there this week have been running around like chickens with our heads cut off. Plus, anytime school is out it's always a great time to go to the doctor and have all your aches and pains examined so you don't have to miss school which makes those of us who work in healthcare crazy! We don't care that you are out of school, if it hurts get it checked out then, not 4 weeks later just because there's no school! Not to mention everyone gets hurt when schools out or breaks a bone or sprains an ankle and so on...the Orthopedic clinic has been jumping! I owe a mucho gracias to my friend Jennifer who has helped me make through the past 2 and 1/2 weeks at work without inflicting intentional harm to myself at work. I wouldn't have made it without her! I am so glad that it's Friday.

I am going to enjoy what little of a weekend we have, try to get some rest, and get ready to start everything all over again! Two day weekends just aren't enough time!

St. Patrick's Day pictures and my new toy!

Well what better way to celebrate cuteness and RED HAIR than on St. Patrick's Day! I took these pictures of the kids to make a St. Patty's Day card to send out to the family! Doesn't Bodie's red hair look cute in all the green. He might kill one day when he sees these (especially the ones with the hat)!

Some pictures that I took with my new "toy." I am loving this new lens for my camera. I am also pumped about the great deal I got when I bought it last week.

I recently purchased a new lens for my camera, it's a 50mm 1.8 Canon lens and I am really loving it. Like my friend Many said "it hasn't been off my camera since I got it! I am enjoying learning the art of photography. Even though I am not really that good I do love practicing on my two precious angels.

We've had an eventful weak in the pet dept at the Reid house, too. We thought that our fish "Cooper" had gone to a better place. Just when we talked Darby into letting him swim in the "big water" he came back to life. out of nowhere he started swimming again. I tell you this is one strong fish. He has been dancing with death his entire life! He gets shocked every time we change his water. Our fish has 9 lives I guess!

The Snow of 2009 and Happy 7 months to Bodie!

Our cute little snow man (because I still didn't feel well enough to make a real one in the yard.)

Happy 7 months to my little sweetheart! Now slow down I am not ready for 1!!!

Our house Sunday during the snow.

The Warrior River.

I love this old bridge we pass on back way to my mom's house.

My sister Kimberly about to nail my dad with a snowball.

Matt and Darby in the snow. She said it was "winden (wind-en)" too much for her!

The view from our front porch. Too, bad it couldn't have been for Christmas.

Our one little tree in the front yard.

Tobe in the snow, he didn't want to get off the back porch...he wasn't quite sure what the white stuff was!

Well who would have ever thought that we were really going to get SNOW! It was perfect, enough to play in and then some beautiful sun shine! We celebrate Bodie turning 7 months old today with a message in the snow. Hope everyone enjoyed their Snow Day! I took these pictures when I finally felt good enough to pick my kids up from my parents house.

More on sick of being SICK!!

Well after feeling like I've been on my death bed since last Wednesday, I have finally awaken to see the light of day and not the back of my eyelids. Well as many of you are aware Darby has been sick for awhile now but we determined the cause. She had somehow gotten C diff. Ususally this is something that affects people who are in the hospital or who have been on lots of antibiotics, but neither of those being the case I am beside myself as to how we got this. But, now I know that you can also pick this up from public places such a restrooms, shopping carts, etc. My advice...wash your hands really good and then at least once more for yours and your children's sake. I don't wish this upon anyone. It's the sickest I think I have ever been. Yes, she also shared it with me! We are all on lots of medicines and recovering. It's been a long road but I think we will make it. I also uploaded some new pic's of the two babies.
"Hey ladies..."

Don't you just love this HAIR?!?!?!?!?! Hot isn't it? Takes a lot of work to get body like that!!

My cute little man!
