Welcome to the New Year!

I cannot believe that 2012 is already here! We've already started the year with a bang. I have repainted the kitchen and now started repainting the livingroom. I want to make our new house a home. I want the warm, cozy, mature look that is classic. We are choosing colors carefully and trying to keep with in the same palette. Our first painting adventure was the bedroom which I copied from an awesome blog lizmarieblog.com. She used the most beautiful gray called Woodsmoke made by Glidden.
It's a gray with a slight brown undertone which makes it really warm.
Our bedding is from Pottery Barn and I will post a picture later, but here's the picture from the PB catalog!
We are loving how the room turned out. Will post pictures soon.
So there's some of the things I've done in the house in the past year, and I've done a lot more but haven't loaded all the pictures to the computer yet! Hope everyone has enjoyed a great New Year's and is looking forward to what's in store for 2012!

Fall is in the air & house...

So we moved in March of this year to the house we had been eyeing for years. We tried to sell our house about 4 years ago and had put a contract on it but we were beat out (pouting...). But here we are 4 1/2 years later and our dream came true. We've been here 6 months and are enjoying it so much. This is the first picture I've taken of the outside. I can't wait to decorate for Christmas this year!!!!! Darby and I have only stuck a couple pumpkin and owl Halloween signs in the yard, more to come. It's still a little hot for pumpkins on the porch here in Alabama!

The fireplace.

Mmmmmmm...taste like a Payday!
A pinterest project on display! I love their feet prints turned into ghosts! The pumpkin was also my mom's.
Darby being silly and using some of the decor as accessories! This was my mom's and I always loved it as a child...so yes it comes out each year!
I hung my pumpkin paper lantern from the light fixture...I figured 'why not?'...my kids love it!
So I haven't found a table that I like to use in the hall, therefore my Halloween display is on the dining room table just to left left of the foyer.

St. Patrick's Day pictures and my new toy!

Well what better way to celebrate cuteness and RED HAIR than on St. Patrick's Day! I took these pictures of the kids to make a St. Patty's Day card to send out to the family! Doesn't Bodie's red hair look cute in all the green. He might kill one day when he sees these (especially the ones with the hat)!

Some pictures that I took with my new "toy." I am loving this new lens for my camera. I am also pumped about the great deal I got when I bought it last week.

I recently purchased a new lens for my camera, it's a 50mm 1.8 Canon lens and I am really loving it. Like my friend Many said "it hasn't been off my camera since I got it! I am enjoying learning the art of photography. Even though I am not really that good I do love practicing on my two precious angels.

We've had an eventful weak in the pet dept at the Reid house, too. We thought that our fish "Cooper" had gone to a better place. Just when we talked Darby into letting him swim in the "big water" he came back to life. out of nowhere he started swimming again. I tell you this is one strong fish. He has been dancing with death his entire life! He gets shocked every time we change his water. Our fish has 9 lives I guess!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

A few pictures from the Polar Express. We rode on the real Thomas the Tank Engine!!

Decorating the tree. I love the one of her helping Daddy put up the tree, nothing but a little butt!!!

These are some of our Christmas pictures of the four of us. Thanks to my neighbor for her wonderful help! It's kind of hard to do it all yourself with 2 small ones!

It's December and Christmas events are already well under way...I am getting behind on my posting. Since Thanksgiving we have decorated the house, had our family Christmas pictures made, and went to the Polar Express. It may take me some time but I will post some pictures of our adventures! We are really serious about potty training right now so I am consumed by the "toddler world."

Happy Thanksgiving

We spent the Thanksgiving holiday in Kentucky with Matt's family this year. Here are some pictures that I captured while there. I took a ton just playing with my camera settings to learn how to take really good shots! I am still working on those skills.
There was even a wishbone to break! Way to go Darby!
My boys!
My nephew Tripp...he's such a happy boy!
These remind me of a kids clothing ad.

I love this picture of Darby.

Halloween with The Reid's

My beautiful little pumpkins! :)
The "Great Pumpkin" left a little surprise for Darby and Bodie.
Happy Halloween love, the Reid's
Darby trick or treating as a cute little pumpkin.
Bodie on his 1st trick or treating outing!
Darby after she had finished accessorizing our pumpkin.

2008 was a great Halloween! It was Bodie's first Halloween and Darby's first time to Trick-or-Treat. We went to a couple houses in the neighborhood, she was hooked as soon as the first piece of candy fell into her bucket. We also enjoyed our annual family Halloween party which was our own version of trunk-or-treat b/c all the sudden we are experiencing high volumes of kids!!! I feel lazy this year b/c I usually go to all lengths to make the family a creative one of a kind costume, but this year I just had the 2 cutest pumpkins in the patch... they were adorable. Hope everyone enjoyed a safe Halloween.
